Ryder Grey Knechtle, 6, of Wernersville, passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2022, at home, surrounded by his loving family. Ryder was a fighter, courageously battling, Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) for 2 years. Ryder was born on September 21, 2016, and for his last birthday he celebrated with his favorite, fireworks. Ryder was best known, loved, and will always be remembered for the way he lit up a room. He enjoyed spending time and playing with his brothers and his golden retrievers at home. He enjoyed dressing up and becoming his beloved superheroes, Captain America and his favorite, Spiderman. Ryder was a collector, and enjoyed having his own boxed collection of different nail polishes, which he loved using, not only on himself but on his family. Ryder was a practical joker, with a smile that was contagious, and a heart filled with love for everyone.
Ryder is survived by his parents, Tobias L. Knechtle, and Jenna L. (Henn), his brothers, Channing T. and Bentley C., his maternal grandparents, Sue and Al Henn, his paternal grandmother, Deborah Steslow, wife of Michael Steslow, his step-grandmother, Dee Matheson, and his great-grandparents, many Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
Ryder is predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Gary Knechtle.
Funeral Service for Ryder will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at 12:00 PM in Bean Funeral Home, 3825 Penn Ave. Sinking Spring, PA 19608. Pastor Chris DiVietro to officiate. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family in St. John’s Hains Church Cemetery. In honor of Ryder’s bright and vibrant personality the family has requested that everyone wear bright colors for his services. The family will receive relatives and friends in Bean Funeral Home, Sinking Spring, on Wednesday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Ryder’s memory to Elle’s Angels Foundation, 980 Wheeler Way P.O. Box 152, Langhorne, PA 19047.
