Winfield R. Lessig, 89, passed into eternity on November 11, 2021. Born at the Community General Hospital in Reading, PA, he was the son of the late Kiemer Lessig and Frances Hattie Swisher Lessig.
He was employed by Bethlehem Steel, Pottstown Plant, as a Powerhouse Attendant and Crane Operator from 1954-1976. After the plant closed in 1976, he was a general contractor and was self-employed for another 25 years. Winfield was known as a gentleman who could fix almost anything and glad to help where he was able.
He is survived by his wife Margaret, son Mark Lessig, husband of Tammy Lessig, son Jason Lessig, husband of Andrea Lessig; grandchildren Brittany Lessig, Cheyann and Matthew Monn; and one sister, Beulah MacDonough.
Funeral Service will be Tuesday November 16th at 12:00 pm at Bean Funeral Home 6 Fairlane Road, Reading PA 19606, Exeter Township. A light luncheon will immediately follow the service and grave-site internment and be located at the New Apostolic Church, 6291 Perkiomen Avenue, Birdsboro PA 19508.
