William Tremper

William J. Tremper, 77, of Spring Township, passed away April 5, 2010 at 9:10 am in Wyomissing Nursing and Rehabilitation Center a resident since March 17, 2010. He was taken to the nursing home from St. Joseph Medical Center. He was the husband of Dorothea L. (Kercher) Tremper. Born in Scranton, PA, he was the son of the late William J. and Evangeline (Koelsch) Tremper. Mr. Tremper began is career with Verizon in their Scranton location in construction and retired as manager of Verizon in Arlington, VA on March 31, 1986 following 31 years of service. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Clover Park AA and was a member of Lincoln Park Fire Company. In addition to his wife, Mr. Tremper is survived by his daughter Laura, wife of Robert Jones of Aberdeen, NC, his step daughter Laurie D. Kercher of Spring Township, grandchildren Christina A. and Zachary A. Jones, Audrey J. and Nicholas J. Bricker. He is also survived by his half brother Joseph Adams of Moscow, PA. Mr. Tremper was preceded in death by his son William T. Tremper.
