William H Roland, III, 80, passed away March 30, 2024 in the care of The Highlands at Wyomissing where he was a resident since 2019. Prior to that he was a resident of Robesonia since 1972. He was the husband of Sheryl E. (Fritz) Roland. Born in Reading, he was the son of the late William and Ida Geraldine (Stover) Roland. He was predeceased by siblings Jeffrey and RuthAnn.
Bill is a 1961 graduate of Wilson High School and also lived in Shillington and Pennside during his early years. He served in the Army as a pharmacy technician where he survived a life-threatening brain aneurysm. Bill was a devoted employee of Ronco’s Pharmacy for 42 years. Some of his hobbies included photography, skiing, travel and Corvettes.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters Kristin E. Ludwig (James) and Lauren E. Zurowski (Eric) and grandchildren James and Andrew Ludwig and Peyton, Dylan, and Jackson Zurowski.
Bill was fortunate to have many wonderful caregivers in his final years with dementia. The family would like to extend thanks to The Highlands skilled nursing aides (especially Deidre), nurses and dining staff, Grane Hospice, and Home Instead.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024 from 10:00 to 11:00 with a service to follow at Bean Funeral Homes, 3825 Penn Ave. Sinking Spring, PA 19608 at 11:00am.
