William J. Raber, 93, of Spring Township, formerly of Penn Hills, Allegheny County, passed away Friday July 30, 2021 at 1:50 pm in Manor Care Health Services, Sinking Spring. He was the husband of Beatrice B. (Brunner) Raber. Mr. Raber was a member of Saint Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church and served in the United States Army. He was a research chemist for J&L Steel in Pittsburgh for 6 years then a research chemist for Crucible Steel Company in Pittsburgh for 11 years and retired in 1989 from American Color & Chemical Company in Reading as a supervisor after 13 years. In addition to his wife, Mr. Raber is survived by his children Richard W. Raber, husband of Bernadette J. Gerhard of Maine; James A. Raber, husband of Robin A. Raber of Shillington; Judith B. Raber of Horsham, PA; Mary K. Kenyon of Shillington; Paula M. Shivers, wife of Thomas Diffenderfer of Wernersville and his 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held at Bean Funeral Home, 3825 Penn Ave. Sinking Spring, Thursday, August 5, 2021 at 11:00 am. Entombment with Military Honors rendered by the United States Army Honor Guard will follow at the Chapel of Saint George at Gethsemane Cemetery Mausoleum.
