William Graser, Sr

GRASER, WILLIAM T., SR., 90, of West Reading, passed away peacefully at his home on June 22, 2016.

He was the husband of the late Betty Jean (Gilbert) Graser. Born in Allentown, PA on April 9, 1926, he was the son of the late Thomas and Mary (Smith) Graser.
Mr. Graser was employed as a supervisor at the former Polymer Corp. in Reading for 32 years. After retiring, he was the owner and operator of Glassmyer's Luncheonette in Lititz for 5 years. He was a loving husband, proud father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be greatly missed. He enjoyed art, restoring antiques, reading, and his dogs.
A U.S. Army veteran, William served in the Korean War and was awarded a Purple Heart in 1950. He was a member of the West Lawn Lions Club and the American Legion VFW. Mr. Graser was a member of Calvary United Church of Christ in Reading, serving as a Deacon and Elder for 7 years.
Surviving are a son, William T. Graser, Jr. ; and a daughter, Patricia G., wife of Mark T. Phillips of Reading; six grandchildren, Krista Prock, wife of Andy, Lauren LaRue, wife of Trey, James Graser, husband of Kelly, Thomas Phillips, husband of Amanda, Morgan Phillips, fiancAC.e of Jaron, and Nicholas Phillips; three great-grandchildren, Margaret Prock, Emily Prock and Jacob Graser; and a sister, Lillian (Kusteker) of Kutztown. Mr. Graser was predeceased by a sister, Florence (Fleming), and a brother, Eugene Graser.
Services will be at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place in Pleasant View Cemetery. Bean Funeral Homes & Crematory, 3825 Penn Avenue, Sinking Spring is in charge of arrangements and online condolences may be made at www.beanfuneralhomes.com.
