Wayne Silas

Wayne J. Silas, 60, of Exeter Township, passed away March 7, 2011 at 4:23 pm in Montgomery Hospital in Norristown. He is survived by his loving wife Debra L. (Einsel) Silas. He was a devoted father to Kirk A.E. Silas and Shane A. Silas both at home. Born in West Reading he was the son of the Erna E. (Schlums) Silas of Reading and the late William J. Silas. He was a 1968 graduate of Reading High School and a graduate of Penn State University with a BS in Animal Science. Wayne was employed by Mrs. Smiths Pie Co. in Morgantown in Quality Control, and then from 1978-2006 he was employed by the Reading Eagle Company as a District Manager. Currently working, he was employed by the United States Postal Service, Elverson Office as a part time letter carrier and also by Flagger Force as a flag man. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era. Wayne is also survived by his sister Wendy J. Rakowiecki of West Reading.
