Warren Newkirk

Warren A. Newkirk aka Flash, 92, of Shillington, passed away May 30, 2013 at 7:10 am in his residence. Born in Cape May, New Jersey, he was the son of the late George D. and Viola (Gaskill) Newkirk. He was a graduate of Shillington High School. He was an outstanding athlete excelling in football, basketball and track and field. Warren served in the United States Army during World War II in the European Theater. Newk was an insurance investigator for Equiafax for 36 years retiring in 1984. He was later employed by Bean Funeral Home as a part time staff member for 3 years, a starter at Golden Oaks Country Club for 5 years and a locker room manager at Heidelberg Country Club for 10 years. Warren was an avid fisherman, loved the game of golf and most importantly was a wonderful woodcarver of birds. He is survived by his wife Suzanne M. McCool of 34 years and his puppy Pepper.
