Vivian Seidel

Vivian M. Seidel, 81, a guest at Mifflin Court, formerly of Reading, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at 10:00 pm in Reading Hospital. She was the wife of the late Robert C. Seidel who passed away February 17, 2004. Born in Reading, Mrs. Seidel was the daughter of the late L. John Heck and Minnie (Gromis) Heck. She was a 1953 graduate of Reading High School and was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Tuckerton. Mrs. Seidel held various positions with Heck's Bakery in Reading for 30 years retiring in 1997. Mrs. Seidel is survived by her children Richard M. Seidel, husband of Vicki L. Seidel of Odessa, Florida; Carol A. Rentschler, wife of Rodney M. Rentschler of West Reading; Debra K. Schock, companion of Vernon Hockenberry of Lititz and Christine L. Seidel, wife of Mary Jane Aldrich-Moodie of Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts. Also surviving are her grandchildren Meggan wife of Amy, Timothy, Christopher, Cortney companion of Adam, Alex, Jonathon, Steven, Samuel and Samantha and her great grandchildren Ayden, Adelyn, Ellesyn, Portland, Emersyn and Aloe. Mrs. Seidel was preceded in death by her sisters June Weiss and Arlene Lynch.
Mrs. Seidel was a class act who was deeply devoted to her family. She relished her childhood summers at Deer Lake and, in adulthood, enjoyed annual family vacations at Mt. Springs Lake in the Poconos. Throughout their years together, Mrs. and Mr. Seidel were horse racing enthusiasts. Mrs. Seidel will be remembered for her quick wit and love of games.
Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held in Bean Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, North 16th & Rockland Streets, Hampden Heights, Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 3:00 pm. Amy S. Landis, Certified Celebrant will officiate. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. The family will receive relatives and friends Saturday, February 18, 2017 from 2:00-3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association 225 North Michigan Ave. Floor 17, Chicago, Illinois 60601 in memory of Mrs. Vivian M. Seidel.
