Vivian L. Berriker, 83, of Cumru Twp., passed away on February 9, 2016 at her residence.
Born in Jonestown, PA she was the daughter of the late Clayton H. and Annie M. (Bohn) Fortna.
Vivian was a 1950 graduate of Jonestown High School. She went on to attend The Reading Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1953. While employed at The Reading Hospital, she served as an operating room nurse and supervisor. In 1973 she went to work as a Nurse Practitioner at the Women's Clinic in West Reading, where she worked until her retirement in 1999.
In her retirement, Vivian enjoyed traveling with her husband Calvin on trips to Europe and Canada. After Calvin passed away, she met her companion Ray and together they traveled to Alaska, Hawaii, New York, and took many cruises. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and entertaining.
She is predeceased by her husband: R. Calvin Berriker.
She is survived by her son: Kenneth D. Buck, husband of Mary Ann of Scottsdale, AZ, Companion of 17 years: Raymond A. Lascomb of Cumru Twp., Grandchildren: Ashley E. Buck and Sarrah W. Buck. Brother: Henry Fortna, husband of Kris. Sister: Anna Mary Nolan, wife of William.
A service will be held at Bean Funeral Home, 129 E. Lancaster Ave., on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 10:30AM. The family will receive friends and relatives from 9-10:30AM. The Entombment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery and Mausoleum.
