Virginia Wentzel-Heiser

May 23, 1922 — November 20, 2009

Virginia M. Wentzel-Heiser, 87, of Kenhorst, passed away on Friday, November 20, 2009, at 1:25 a.m. at the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, where she had been a patient for less than a day.


Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Ralph W. Clay and Edna (Lessig) Clay.


She was the wife of Joseph I. Heiser of Kenhorst. Her first husband, Howard A. Wentzel, passed away in May of 1988.


She was a 1940 graduate of Reading High School, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 251 in Reading.


She worked as a teller and trainer of tellers for the former Hamilton Bank at Berkshire Mall for many years, retiring in 1982.


In addition to her husband, she is survived by her step son: Paul J. Heiser of West Reading, and two step granddaughters: Rebecca and Laura Heiser.


She is also survived by a half sister: Ardelle L. (Clay) Jones of Wyomissing; two nieces: Vicki L. Jones and Kelly A. Lountzis; and a nephew: Craig M. Jones.
