Virginia E. Voigt

Virginia E. Voigt, 94, of Shillington, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at the Reading Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late David Q. Voigt, who passed away on January 16, 2016. Together they shared 64 wonderful years of marriage.

Born on March 12, 1929, in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Clair L. and Dorothy B. (Phillips) Erb. Virginia was a graduate of Reading High School and went on to attend Kutztown University where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. During her life, she was employed as a School Teacher , starting her career in New York from 1951-1956 and then went on to educate for the Cumru Elementary School for 26 years, until retiring in 1992. Virginia enjoyed crossword puzzles, traveling, watching Broadway shows, creating activities for the kids and attending her sons baseball games. She was also a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Shillington.  Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and beloved husband.

Virginia is survived by her sons, David J. Voigt, husband of Nancy J. Voigt, of Sinking Spring; Mark W. Voigt, husband of Mary A. Voigt, of Blue Bell, PA; 5 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held at Bean Funeral Homes 129 E. Lancaster Ave. Shillington, PA 19607 on Monday. January 22, 2024 at 10:30am. Rev. Megan Huesgen will officiate. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive relatives and friends from 9:30am-10:30am.
