Virginia F. Martin, 97, of Reading, passed away June 20, 2015 in Laurel Center. Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Clarence B. Sr. and Frances Prutzman.
She was owner and operator of The Red Velvet Tavern in Kutztown and was a waitress throughout her working years.
Virginia is survived by her grandchildren, Carolann E. Moody, Thomas C. Lenich, husband of Jan; five great-grandchildren: Nicole Moore, Gretchen LaFerriere, Ty Moody, Thomas D. Lenich, and Boyd Lenich; and four great-great-grandchildren; sister, Betty M. Colletti, Reading; brother, Clarence B. Prutzman Jr., Oley; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Carole E. Lenich; a great-great-grandson; and siblings, William Prutzman and Edith Cirulli.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mrs. Martin's memorial to Animal Rescue League: P.O. Box 69, Mohnton, PA 19540.
Memorial service will be held in Bean Funeral Homes, North 16th & Rockland Sts., Hampden Heights, Thursday, June 25, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., Dr. Rev. Robert G. Aregood Jr., officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive relatives and friends 10:30- 11:00 a.m.
