Violet M. Sampson, 91, of Wyomissing, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at Columbia Cottage, where she received care and support for the last 5 years. She was the beloved wife of the late Stanley E. Sampson, a Navy officer, from Brooklyn, NY.
Born in Orwigsburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Claude H. and Ethel H. (Becker) Zettlemoyer. Violet was a graduate of the Muhlenberg HS class of 1949. In her earlier years, Violet enjoyed painting ceramics with her sisters-in-law, and aquacise classes with her friends at the local YMCA. She collected angels, enjoyed celebrating Christmas, worked as a Secretary and Receptionist around town, then was a caregiver to her own parents in their final years.
Violet is survived by her brothers, Herbert T. Zettlemoyer, husband of Judy, of Temple; and Robert L. Zettlemoyer, husband of Dawn, of Leesport; a sister-in-law, Joyce Zettlemoyer, of Perkasie; nephews, Mark Zettlemoyer; Richard A. Zettlemoyer Jr.; Ronald Zettlemoyer; William Zettlemoyer; and Alan Zettlemoyer; and nieces Kay Emmons; Lynn Zettlemoyer; and Rebecca Newman.
Violet was predeceased by brothers, Richard A. Zettlemoyer, Barry L. Zettlemoyer, and sisters-in-law, MaryAnn Zettlemoyer and Freda Zettlemoyer.
Funeral services will be held at Bean Funeral Homes 3825 Penn Ave. Sinking Spring, PA 19608 on Monday, December 19, 2022 at 11:00am. Amy S. Landis, Certified Celebrant will officiate. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home from 10:00am-11:00am.
