Veronica Stoss

Veronica M. Stoss, 82, of Exeter Township, passed away Sunday December 5, 2021 at 4:20 pm at Manor Care Health Services, Sinking Spring.  She was preceded in death by her first husband Richard Gelvin, February 14, 2006 and by her second husband Barry Stoss November 29, 1989.    Born in Reading, Mrs. Stoss was the daughter of the late Stephen Franckowiak and Hilda E. (Evans) Benzel.  She was a member of Saint Catharine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, Exeter Township and a member of the 50+ Club at Church.  She was also a volunteer at Mary’s Shelter and served in the United States Army.    Mrs. Stoss was a purchasing agent at Car Tech for 30 years until her retirement.  She is survived by her son Terence D. Gelvin, husband of Theresa D. (Rapino) Gelvin of Shillington and was preceded in death by her daughter Victoria L. Smallwood.  Mrs. Stoss is also survived by her grandchildren Kendra A. Myers, Katlyn E. Dawson, Eddie R. Dawson, Airman Zachary E. Dawson, Alexandria M. Gelvin, Jacob A. Gelvin, Danielle E. Egan;  her great grandchildren Mason, Benson, Tucker and her brothers Al Franckowiak, husband of Maria Franckowiak of Reiffton and Dennis Benzel of Reiffton.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Catharine of Siena Roman Catholic Church 4975 Boyertown Pike, Exeter Township, Friday, December 10, 2021 at 10:00 am.  Reverend Monsignor Edward R. Domin, Celebrant.  Interment will be held at Gethsemane Cemetery, Monday, December 13, 2021 at 10:00 am with Military Honors rendered by the United States Army Honor Guard.   The family will receive relatives and friends at Saint Catharine of Siena Roman Catholic Church Friday from 8:45 am to 9:45 am.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Mary ‘s Shelter 615 Kenhorst Blvd. Reading, PA 19611 in memory of Mrs. Veronica M.
