Valerie Reidinger

Valerie A. Reidinger, 84, of Lower Alsace Township, passed away Friday, April 27, 2018 at 5:30 pm in Berkshire Center. She was the wife of Carl J. Reidinger. Born in White Plains, New York, Mrs. Reidinger was the daughter of the late Buford C. and Helen (Lanigan) Jackson. She was employed by Bachman's Bakery and later for the Reading School District where she was a secretary in various schools and the administrative building. Mrs. Reidinger loved to travel with family and friends. She made memorable trips across the United States and enjoyed traveling to Alaska, Germany and Ireland. In addition to her husband Mrs. Reidinger is survived by her children Layne L. Drexel of Newark, Delaware and Cherie L.(Drexel) Clissa, wife of Perry V. Clissa of Exeter Township and her grandson Dean R. Clissa. She is also survived by her sisters Lynette Gardner, wife of Frank Gardner of Pawtucket, Rhode Island; Feldima Harris of Texas and Veldon Matz of Pottstown; sister in law Shirley Nuss and niece Karen O'Neill, wife of Todd O'Neill both of Womelsdorf. She was preceded in death by her daughter Chris Ellen Drexel, October 16, 2006; brother Buford Jackson and sisters Gwendolyn Jackson Smalnik and Jeannie Hatfield.
Funeral Service will be held in Bean Funeral Home North 16th & Rockland Streets, Hampden Heights, Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at 11:00 am. Reverend Mark D. Dewald will officiate. Interment will follow in Berks County Memorial Gardens. The family will receive relatives and friends in Bean Funeral Home, Wednesday 10:00-11:00 am. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Cat Works of Berks County, PO Box 15171, Reading, PA 19612-5171 in memory of Mrs. Valerie A. Reidinger.
