Thomas Nein

Thomas W. Nein, 83, of Exeter Township, passed away Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 11:39 pm in his home. He was the husband of Anna Mae (Merkel) Nein. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on August 17, 2017 and were married in St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church in 1957. Born in Reading, Mr. Nein was the son of the late Woodrow W. and Elizabeth P. (Patton) Nein. He was a member of Saint Catharine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, Exeter Township and served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Mr. Nein was employed as a fork lift driver at Firestone Tire & Rubber Corp. in Pottstown for 23 years and as a maintenance supervisor at Reading Area Community College for 13 years until his retirement. He was an artist and loved to paint, sharing many of his paintings with family and friends. Mr. Nein was a CYO Coach who was involved and coached his children's sports teams. He especially loved spending time with his family. Mr. Nein was a loving father to Todd T. Nein, husband of Victoria A. Nein of Lancaster; Thomas M. Nein, husband of Julie C. Nein of Exeter Township and Lesa M. Moyer, wife of Gary M. Moyer of Oley. He was preceded in death by his daughter Jody Ann Rex in 2009. Mr. Nein was a loving and devoted grandfather to Lauren; Katie; Stephanie; Amy; Olivia; Benjamin; Matthew and Alex and to his great grandchildren Rowan and Tristan. He is also survived by his siblings Gerald L. Nein and Kenneth Nein both of Reading and Susan Firestone, wife of Rodney Firestone of Florida.
Graveside Service will be held at the convenience of the family in Gethsemane Cemetery.
