Thomas Decarlo

August 7, 1955 — February 4, 2017

Thomas R. DeCarlo, 61, of Reading, passed away Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 6:20 pm in Reading Hospital. He was the husband of Lisa M. (Kelly) DeCarlo. They celebrated 36 wonderful years of marriage this past December. Born in Reading, Tom was the son of the late Thomas and Kathryn (Heebner) DeCarlo. He was a 1973 graduate of Reading High School and was a member of Masonic Lodge #62 F&AM. Tom was the founder and co-owner of DeCarlo Custom Cabinetry for 18 years, retiring in 2014. Tom also spent countless years coaching youth football, basketball, baseball and was a pillar in Reading High School marching bands' band-aids (parent organization) throughout his childrens' years and beyond.

In addition to his wife Lisa, he is survived by his children Richard A. DeCarlo, husband of Ashleigh DeCarlo of Sinking Spring; Tiffany M. Long, wife of Brian Long of Exeter Township and Lindsey R. DeCarlo, fiancAC. of Christopher Robinson of Mount Penn along with his grandchildren Hannah, Thomas, Carter, Elizabeth and Christopher. Tom is also survived by his siblings; Michael DeCarlo, husband of Tracy DeCarlo of Shillington; Kathleen Stear, wife of Brad Stear of Norristown; Daniel DeCarlo, husband of Mary Jean Tecce-DeCarlo of Oreland; and Joseph DeCarlo of Reading. In addition to many in-laws, nieces, and nephews, Tom a.k.a. Papa D was a second father to several 'adoptive children' throughout his lifetime.

Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held in Bean Funeral Homes & Crematory, 3825 Penn Ave. Sinking Spring, Sunday, February 12, 2017 at 3:00 pm. Reverend Dr. Kris A. Hayden will officiate. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. The family will receive relatives and friends in Bean Funeral Home, Sunday 12:00-2:45 pm. Masonic Service will be conducted by Masonic Lodge #62 F&AM at 2:45 pm. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in memory of Mr. Thomas R. DeCarlo.
