Thomas Bain, 80, of Shillington, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 6:30 pm in the University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia. He was the husband of Sheila A. (Locke) Bain. Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, Tom ('Tam') was the son of the late Malcolm MacDonald Bain and Annie (Marshall) Bain. He was a graduate of Portobello High School in Edinburgh, Scotland and served in the Royal Air Force for 3 years and British Army for 12 years. He immigrated to the United States with his wife and 3 daughters in 1973. They first resided in Bucks County, PA where his only son was born. Tom later relocated his family to Texas before returning to Pennsylvania. Tom was employed by Transwall of West Chester as an International Sales Manager where he worked for 40 years. After retirement Tom became the patriarch of Trooper Thorns Irish Beefhouse where his presence became a predominant staple. He is preceded in death by his brothers Malcolm Bain of Edinburgh, Scotland and John Bain of Chorley, England. In addition to his wife, Tom is survived by his children Linda Ann White of Houston, Texas; Karen Brown, wife of Chuck Brown of Katy, Texas; Jacqueline Trapp, wife of Michael Trapp of Sinking Spring and Thomas ('Starr') Andrew Bain of Shillington. He is also survived by his grandchildren Christopher; Joseph; Jacob; Jordyn; Nicquie; Madison; Haylie; Chad and Taylor Marie along with his 6 great grandchildren. Tom is also survived by his sister Margaret Lauder of Boca Raton, Florida and adopted father and grandfather to the extended Trapp Family of Bucks County, PA.
Remembrance of Tom's Life will be celebrated in Bean Funeral Homes & Crematory, 3825 Penn Ave. Sinking Spring Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 12:30 pm. Reverend Steven Isaac will officiate. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. The family will receive relatives and friends in Bean Funeral Homes & Crematory Thursday 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 East Ohio Street Suite 500, Chicago, IL 60611 in memory of Mr. Thomas Bain.
