The Angstadt

The Reverend Lee E. Angstadt, 84, a resident of the Heritage at Green Hills, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2017 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Shirley A. (McNabb) Angstadt. Born in Palmerton, PA, Pastor Lee was the son of the late Edith M. (Snyder) and The Reverend Elton L. Angstadt. He was a 1951 graduate of East Greenville High School and received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Muhlenberg College in 1955. He went on to graduate in 1958 from The Lutheran Theological Seminary in Philadelphia. He served as Pastor of Friedens Lutheran Church in Center Valley, Lehigh County from 1958-1970; Saint John's Lutheran Church in Mohnton from 1970-1984; Saint John's Lutheran Church in Boyertown from 1985-1995 and became Pastor Emeritus there in 1995. Pastor Lee served faithfully as chaplain of the Lutheran Board of Inner Mission and as secretary of the board of the Lutheran Home at Topton. In addition to his wife Shirley, Pastor Lee is survived by his sons Glenn E. Angstadt, husband of Lynne M. of Shillington; David L. Angstadt of Quakertown and his daughters Lisa B., wife of George H. Schmidt, III of Mohnton and Amy S. Angstadt of Chester Springs and his 10 grandchildren: Monica, Luke, Megan, Derek, Sarah, George, Rachel, Zachary, Elizabeth and Lily and 9 great grandchildren: Aviary, Caden, Laila, Jade, Aamirah, Andrew, Isabella, Everly and Aslyn. Pastor Lee was preceded in death by his brother Gene A. Angstadt.
Funeral Service and Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
