Terrance Lyons

Terrance W. Lyons, 98, of Sinking Spring, passed away June 27, 2016 at Phoebe Berks.
He was the widower of his military sweetheart, Joyce L. (Kellar) Lyons. Terrance was born in Harrisburg, the son of the late Terrance W. and Ruth (Eshenaur) Lyons.
After graduating Reading High School in 1936, Terrance served as a First Lt. flight instructor in the 329th Bomb Squadron of the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He was later employed as a computer salesman with Olivetti of Reading for 42 years, retiring in 1982.
Terry lived purposely and enthusiastically, devoting time to his passions, including photography, the outdoors, his card club, his beloved dogs and his adoring family. He was a member of Advent Lutheran Church; a member of the Isaac Hiester Masonic Lodge #660 for more than 50 years; and a lifetime member of The American Legion.
Terrance is survived by his daughter, Joy L. Scott, widow of Stephen Scott of Hopeland; five grandchildren, Stephanie and Heather Scott, Albert and Terry Mauger and Kristi Violett; and eight great-grandchildren. He was predeceased in death by his children Linda L. Mauger, Terrance W. Lyons, III and his sister Geraldine Gilliams.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Terrance to the Italian Greyhound Rescue Foundation, Inc., 7 Damon Street, North Reading, MA 01864.
Services will be held at Bean Funeral Homes, 3825 Penn Avenue, Sinking Spring, on Friday, July 1, 2016 at 11:00am, Rev. Paul L. Jones officiating. Burial will follow with military honors in Laureldale Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends 10:00-11:00am.
