Tara (Milanek) Reed

Tara (Milanek) Reed, 68, of Muhlenberg Township, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2024, in her home. Born in Reading, she was the daughter of Jacqueline (Guthier) Milanek – Kopicki and the late Frank Milanek and stepdaughter to the late Edward Kopicki. She was the beloved wife of Richard R. Reed and together they shared 40 years of marriage. Tara graduated from Holy Name High School in 1974 and worked as a Rehab Specialist for the City of Reading for 34 years. She was an avid gardener and reader. She loved all Phillies sports. Tara enjoyed traveling with her family and going to the casinos with her husband, Rick. She cherished every moment spent with her family, whether it was having dinner together, playing games, or being involved in her grandchildren’s events. 

In addition to her husband, Rick and mother, Jacqueline, Tara is survived by her children, Damian Shimsky, Amy Reed, and Keely Mast and her grandchildren, Nymia, Taegan, Gregory, Madeline, Xylie, and Gracey. Also surviving are her siblings, Janette Guzowski, Nicholas Milanek, Thomas Milanek, Mitchell Milanek, Clare Milanek, and Andrew Milanek. Tara is predeceased by her sister, Diane Milanek-Burasz, and her nephews, Stanley Guzowski and Dylan Lorah.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
