Suzanne Palmer

Suzanne M. Palmer, 68, of Alexandria, Virginia went to be with our Lord on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at The Adler Center for Caring, Aldie, Virginia. Born in Reading, Pennsylvania on March 20, 1948; she was the daughter of the late Albert C. Heister. She was preceded in death by her parents Merlin and Stella (Madeira) Ressler.
Sue, known affectionately as Susie to family and close friends, worked as a manager at Burke Nursery and Garden Centre in Burke, Virginia. She remains an active member of the Overland Park Elks Lodge No. 2395, Overland Park, Kansas.
Sue is survived by two sons, Thomas Miller and wife Tanya of Ennis, Texas and Michael Miller and wife Michelle of Fairfax, Virginia; six grandchildren Gabrielle Miller, Sydney Miller, Rachel Miller, Melanie Miller, Everett Miller, and Shane Miller; five great grandchildren; two sisters Fayann Dewees and husband Gary, Sherryl Shade and husband Dennis, and two brothers, Larry Heister and Dennis Heister.
Sue had a deep love for her family and was very proud of each of them. She easily made friends wherever she went and most especially enjoyed her co-workers and the customers she served. She was a devoted member of the Elks and enjoyed many things in life such as bowling, watching and talking about sports, getting her hair done, road trips back to PA to see friends and family, she also loved to snack on her favorite chips and ring bologna. Sue loved her country and wore an American flag lapel pin every day.
Her family will be holding a Memorial at Bean Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, North 16th & Rockland Streets Hampden Heights, Reading, PA 19604 on February 24, 2017 visitation will begin at 12PM followed by a Memorial Service at 1PM.
