Susan Schafer

Susan J. Schafer, 89, a resident of Berks Heim since October 2015, formerly of Reading, passed away on Monday, February 11, 2019. She was the wife of the late Robert H. Schafer, Sr. who passed away January 22, 1979. They were married December 24, 1949. Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late William D. and Mary E. (Diefenderfer) Laurence. Mrs. Schafer was a 1947 graduate of Reading High School and retired from Lucent Technologies. She was the loving mother to four children, Robert H. Schafer, Jr. and his wife Valerie; Tami S. Schafer and her husband Christopher Elia; David L. Schafer and his wife Joanne; Brian K. Schafer and his wife Margie. Mrs. Schafer is also survived by her grandchildren Robert, Ashley, Daniel, Renee, Jesse and Dalton and one great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her sister Blanche Schuchart and three brothers Elmer, John and David Laurence.
Funeral Service will be held in Bean Funeral Home 6 Fairlane Road, Exeter Township, Friday, February 15, 2019 at 1:00 pm. Reverend Kerry L. Hicks will officiate. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive relatives and friends in Bean Funeral Home Friday 12:00-1:00 pm.
