Susan Darbro

Susan J.Darbro, 69, of Mohnton, passed away Monday, June 27, 2016 at 11:45 pm in her home following a 1 year fight with cancer. She was the wife of Edward C. Darbro to whom she was married to for 43 years. Born in Allentown, Sue was the daughter of the late Earl H. and Katharine V. (Bewley) Reimert. She was a 1965 graduate of Reading High School and a 1966 graduate of McCann's School of Business with a degree in medical secretary. Sue worked for several medical practices in the Reading area as well as a mortgage cashier for Santander Bank retiring in 2010. She then worked part time at Wilson High School as a morning greeter until April 2016. Sue was a life member of Girls Scouts of America serving as a summer camp counselor; troop leader; leader trainer and training the trainer. She loved spending her time at the Shillington Pool with her grandchildren where they could be found from 11:30-3:30 pm. In the winter months she could be found on the couch knitting and drinking hot coco. Sue was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Robesonia where she was a member of the Church Choir. In addition to her husband Edward, Sue is survived by her daughters Mitzi L. Cote, wife of Christopher Cote of Mohrsville and Amanda Thomas, wife of James Thomas of South Heidelberg Township along with her grandchildren Cassandra and Cameron Cote; Emma and Abigail Thomas.
Celebration of Life Service will be held in Trinity Lutheran Church 108 South Robeson Street, Robesonia, Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 11:00 am. Reverend William H. Weiser will officiate. Interment will be held privately by the family. The family will receive relatives and friends in Trinity Lutheran Church Saturday 9:30-11:00 am. A luncheon will immediately follow.
