Susan E. (Smith) Brooks, 70, of Exeter Township, passed away August 12, 2016 in Presbyterian Hospital, Philadelphia.
She was the beloved wife of Gary A. Brooks, Sr.
Born in Wallingford, PA, she was the daughter of the late Edward J. and Lillian S. (Zajano) Smith.
Susan graduated from Woodbridge High School and Rutgers University. She was an active member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church and held multiple positions in accounting before her retirement in 2011.
She was a generous volunteer throughout the community for the church, meals on wheels, the soup kitchen, Exeter Library and Women's Club where she served as treasurer.
Surviving in addition to her husband Gary, are her children: son Gary A. Brooks, Jr., husband of Piera of Pace, FL; daughter Andrea M. Griffith, wife of Michael Griffith of Knoxville, TN; son Gregory F. Brooks of Knoxville; five grandchildren Joshua, Jeremy, Elena, Kyle and Stacy Brooks; sister Ellen L. (Smith) McMullen Zintak of Wyomissing; several very special nieces and nephews and her cats Sambo and Teddy. She was preceded in death by her daughter Christine M. Brooks in 2007 and her brother Ronald J. Smith.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 12 p.m. at St. Catherine of Sienna Roman Catholic Church, 4975 Boyertown Pike, Exeter Township. Inurnment will be private. The family will receive relatives and friends at church 11:00-11:45am.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Mrs. Brooks' memory to Animal Rescue League: P.O. Box 69, Mohnton, PA 19540 and/or American Cancer Society 498 E. Bellevue Avenue, Reading, PA 19605.
