Stanley Andrukanis

Stanley L. "Stan" Andrukanis, 83, of Spring Township, passed away Friday, May 6, 2011 in the Reading Hospital & Medical Center surrounded by loved ones. Born in Mt. Carmel on February 10, 1928 he was the son of the late Stanley and Stella(Swiderski) Andrukanis. Stan was a loving husband to Marcella F. (Ziemba) formerly of Shamokin, PA. They were looking forward to celebrating their 60th Anniversary on September 1, 2011. Upon graduating from high school, Stan served his country for four years during World War II. Being a Navy veteran honorably discharged he continued his education at Penn State University on the G.I. Bill. He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua RCC. Stan was employed at Dana Corp. as a steelworker for 35 years. After retiring from Dana in 1984 he continued various jobs throughout the rest of his life. He held positions with Meridian Bank and Governor Mifflin School District. Stans final employer was American Dental Solutions where he was a Courier. Always embracing a strong work ethic and devotion to his Wife and Family, Stan finally retired at the young age of 82. Stan loved to jitterbug with his favorite dance partner, his beautiful Wife Marcy and his daughters were always eagerly waiting in line for their turn. Along with his dancing prowess he was also an accomplished accordion player, always entertaining at family gatherings and weddings. He also enjoyed going to the casino with various family members. He and Marcy along with their children enjoyed going to see their daughter sing. His greatest joy in life was spending quality time with his family. He especially treasured family traditions at Christmas, spreading love and joy to everyone. Stan will always be remembered for being a devoted caring and compassionate husband, father and grandfather. Survivng in addtion to his wife are six children, Christine M. Pritchard of Mohrsville, Stanley T. Andrukanis, fiance of Janice Kehler of St. Lawrence, Patricia wife of George Apsokardu of Bernville, Marcia wife of Donald Stewart of Bernville, Barbara wife of Donald Patterson, Sandra wife of Matthew Roeder both of Exeter Township, 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren along with sister Carol Fisher of Frazer, PA and Stella Rossi of Mt. Carmel.
