Shirley Styer

Shirley Y. Styer, 81, of Reading, passed away December 1, 2010 at 4:20 PM in Reading Hospital & Medical Center where she was a patient since November 24st. She was the wife of Dr. Adolph W. Styer. Born in Reading on July 15, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Clarence F. and Mary L. (Hauser) Yohe.

Mrs. Styer was a self employed cosmetologist in Reading from 1965 until 1978 and then worked as a dental assistant in her husband's dental practice from 1978 until 1997.

Shirley was a wonderful, loving and caring wife and mother. She loved cooking for her family and friends and was very fond of them all.

Surviving in addition to her husband are 2 daughters Dorrie L. (Styer) wife of Darrel A. Farkus of Asbury, NJ and Michelle D. (Styer) wife of Douglas E. Hoffmann of Reading; a son Rocky K. Styer husband of Linda J. Styer of Alexandria, VA; 6 grandchildren Kristie L. McDonald, Tara M. Trego, Lauren P. Kish, Katie S. Vignola, Rocky K. Styer Jr. and Whitney L. Farkus; 4 great grandchildren Lindsey McDonald, Nicholas McDonald, Jackson Trego and Brooklynn Trego; and a sister Kathryn (Yohe) wife of James Orrs of Shillington. She was predeceased by a brother Clarence F. Yohe and a sister Phyllis (Yohe) Schadler.
