Shirley D.

Shirley M. (Miller) Hill, ED. D., 81, of Wyomissing, passed away on Monday, February 8, 2010 at 6:40 p.m. at the Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

Born in Centre Twp., she was the daughter of the late Walter P. Miller and Myrlie M. (Unger) Miller.

She was the wife of Samuel E. Hill. The couple shared 60 wonderful years of marriage.

She was a 1945 graduate of Wyomissing High School, a 1949 graduate of the former East Stroudsburg Teachers College (Now East Stroudsburg University), received her Masters Degree from Kutztown University in 1970, and received her Doctorate in Education in 1982 from Southeastern University, New Orleans.

She worked as a School Teacher and Librarian for the Reading School Dist., 13th & Union Sts. Building for 25 years, retiring in 1991.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son: Steven J. Hill of Wyomissing, and Daughter: Cheryl L. (Hill) Werkheiser)

There are also two grandchildren: Justin & Aja

She is also survived by a sister: Marian M. (Miller) Accles of Ashburn, NC.
