Shirley A. Angstadt, 86, of Cumru Township, passed away Sunday, February 7, 2021 in the Reading Hospital. She was the wife of the late Reverend Lee E. Angstadt who passed away September 20, 2017. They were married for 61 years.
Born in Allentown, Mrs. Angstadt was the daughter of the late Earl J. and Mabel (Young) McNabb. She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mohnton and was a hospital visitor for the Lutheran Intermission Society in Reading for 14 years retiring in 1987. She is survived by her children Glenn E. Angstadt, husband of Lynne M. Angstadt of Shillington; David L. Angstadt of Quakertown; Lisa B. Schmidt, wife of George H. Schmidt, III of Mohnton; Amy S. Angstadt of Chester Springs, her grandchildren Monica, Luke, Megan, Derek, Sarah, George IV, Rachel, Zachary, Elizabeth, Lily and her 15 great grandchildren. Mrs. Angstadt is also survived by her brother Ronald C. McNabb of Whitehall.
In addition to her family, which was always number one, Mrs. Angstadt’s other two loves were The Hilda Mae – the family’s beach house in Ocean City, NJ and her constant companion Joy Lee, her three-year-old black cat.
The funeral service will be held in Bean Funeral Home 129 East Lancaster Ave. Shillington at the convenience of the family. Interment will follow at Frieden’s Union Cemetery, Sumneytown, Montgomery County.
