Sandra Weitzel

Sandra J. (Brendle) Weitzel, 64, of Cumru Twp., passed away Thursday, September 3rd, 2009, at 6:03 p.m. at home. Born October 2, 1944 in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Warren W. Brendle and Mildred M. (Kohl) Koening Brendle. She was the wife of John E. Weitzel at home. The couple shared 45 wonderful years of marriage. She was a 1962 graduate of Governor Mifflin High School, and a member of Wyomissing United Church of Christ in Gouglersville, where she served as a Deacon, Counsel Member, and worked with the Ladies Guild. She was also involved with Topton Lutheran Services, and was a member of the Hilltoppers Club. She worked as a Secretary from 1962 to 1965 for Travelers Insurance Co., and at Dupont in Wilmington, DE for 18 years, retiring in 1984. In addition to her husband, she is survived by sisters: Janet L. (Brendle) Blimline of Spring Twp., and Lauren K. (Brendle) Lorah of Adamstown; a half sister: Carolyn (Koening) Wischuck of Coatesville, PA. There is also a niece: Debbie Wood of Shillington, and several other nieces and nephews.
