Sandra Annette Covatta, 66 of Douglassville PA, passed peacefully away after a courageous 6 year battle with cancer on Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at her daughter's home with family by her side. She was born in Coatesville, PA and was raised in Honey Brook, PA where she graduated from Twin Valley High School. She was the daughter of the late Carl and Jeannette {Johnson} Bolich. She was a graduate of Ursinus College, achieving a bachelor's degree in Psychology. In her teenage years she started work as a waitress and went on to become the owner and manager of Covatta's Brinton Lodge in Douglassville and the Iron Master in Shillington for almost 30 years. Before that, her and her late husband owned Covatta's Thorndale Inn. Sandy was an avid dirt bike racer in District 6 back in the 1970's, a time when few women were in the sport. She was able to attend a flat track race at Pagoda Motorcycle Club on April 24th that brought back many memories and lots of smiles. Sandy loved the beach. She always dreamed of living near the water and was able to do that when she moved to Tiki Island, TX for a few years having the Gulf at doors steps. She loved flea markets and antiquing and ran the Brinton Barn Shoppe as well. Sandy and her sister Dawn shared a joyful story of turtles from one of their beach trips together and it led to a love and collection of turtles...so whenever you see a turtle...that is Sandy saying, Hello! Sandy cherished most, her loving family, especially spending every moment with her grandson which brought her complete joy! Sandra is survived by her children, Lauren A. Covatta, wife of Raul Velez, of Robesonia, and Anthony C. Covatta, of Douglassville. She is also survived by her stepchildren, John Covatta of Douglassville, Michelle Moreno of Oley, Patricia Mowrer of Pottstown and her grandson, Sylas. Sandra is survived by her siblings, Dawn Carbo, Kenneth Bolich and Ronald Bolich. She was also loved dearly by her nieces Mackenzie, Madelyn and Cassidy Carbo as well as cousins and many friends. She is predeceased by husbands John Green, Robert Covatta, and Steven Sroczynski and her stepson, Bobby Covatta. A memorial service in celebration of Sandy's life will be held at Hidden River Brewery, 1808 West Schuylkill River Road, Douglassville, PA 19518 on Thursday, June 3, 2021 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm.
