Salvatore D. "Sam" Marabella Sr., 84, formerly of Reading, passed away Friday, October 2nd, 2009 at 5:15 p.m. at the residence of his daughter Andrea (Marabella) Miller.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late John Marabella and Lena (Sfameni) Marabella.
He was the widower of Anne M. (BlanskI) Marabella, who passed away on June 10, 2003.
He was a 1943 graduate of Reading High School, and was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II.
He worked for Western Electric for 25 years before retiring. He was a member of St. Catharine of Sienna, R.C.C.
He was involved with Yoke Fellowship Ministries, and ministered at the Berks County Prison. He was also a Eucharistic Minister, and administered Communion at the local hospitals.
He is survived by his son: Salvatore D. "Sam" Marabella Jr., husband of Arlene, of St. Cloud, FL.; and daughters: Cathy (Marabella) Duggan of Reading, and Andrea (Marabella), wife of Greg Miller of Cumru Twp.
There are also three grandchildren: Jennifer, Andrew, and Megan, and six great grandchildren: Connor, Taylor, Andrew Jr., Benjamin, Josh, and William.
He is also survived by his brother: Peter Marabella, husband of Dorothy, of Wyomissing.
