Ryan J. Schlegel

             Ryan J. Schlegel, 71, formerly of Shillington, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2024, in the Reading Hospital.  Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Florence P. (Miller) and Harold J. Schlegel, Sr.  For the last 6 ½ years Ryan lived at Berks Heim Nursing Home, where he was greatly taken care of by the nursing staff and watched over by other residents.  He attended Spring Valley Church of God and Incarnation Lutheran Church.  Ryan loved praising his Savior and listening to spiritual music.  He enjoyed playing cards, 500 Rummy and Solitaire were his favorites.  He had a heart of gold and was loved by all who met him.  Ryan would tell everyone he talked to, “Go and Have a Blessed Day!”

               Ryan is survived by his siblings, Robert Schlegel, husband of Lori Beth of Stony Creek, Debbie Fessett, wife of Sheldon of Mt. Penn, and Darrell Schlegel, husband of Sharon of Georgia, and many nieces and nephews.   Ryan is predeceased by his brother, Harold “Butch” Schlegel, Jr.

               A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 8, 2024, at 11:00 am in Bean Funeral Home, 129 E. Lancaster Ave., Shillington.  Pastor Robert Hinson to celebrate.  The family will receive friends and relatives on Monday, April 8^th from 10:00 am to 11:00 am in Bean Funeral Home, Shillington.  Interment will follow the service at Forest Hills Memorial Park.   In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Mr. Ryan J. Schlegel to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
