Ruth Patterson

Ruth H. Patterson, 90, passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at The Highlands at Wyomissing. Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Sylvester W. and Kathryn (Barto) Hilbert. Ruth was a 1948 Reading High School graduate. During her life she was employed as a Controller for Penske Corporation for more than 20 years. She was a member of Saint Peter’s United Church of Christ. Ruth was an avid bridge player.

Ruth is survived by her sister Sylvia H. Whitehead, wife of Donald, of Inverness, FL.; nephew, Douglas L. Whitehead, of Fort Myers, FL.; nephew, Peter H. Whitehead, of Cleveland, Ohio; niece, Diane R. Respess, of Atlantic, Georgia; and nephew, Thomas P. Whitehead, of Washington D.C. She was predeceased by her loving companion James Brusch.

Graveside service will be held at Laureldale Cemetery, 4631 Pottsville Pike, Reading, PA 19605 on Monday, December 21, 2020 at 11:00am. Reverend Dr. Kris Hayden will officiate. Bean Funeral Homes, Shillington, is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be made to www.beanfuneralhomes.com.
