Ruth Melcher

Ruth A. Melcher, 78, of Cumru Township, passed away January 3, 2009 at 6:25 pm in the Reading Hospital where shw was a patient for 4 days.

She was the Loving wife of Raymond H. Melcher, Sr. They have been married since 1949.

Born in Reading she was the daughter of the late Kenneth L. and Edna (Balthaser) Ormsbee. Mrs.

Melcher was a 1948 graduate of Reading High School; a past president of PTO of Spring and Moss Elementary Schools; and a life long animal lover and she adored her dog Penny and parrot Boca.

In addition to her loving husband she was the Loving Mother to Raymond H. Melcher, Jr. of Sinking Spring and Lynne M.(Melcher) wife of Craig N. Rentschler of Shoemakersville. She was a Loving Grandmother to Stephen Schwank; Patrick Melcher; Kelly Petery; Timothy Melcher and Loving great grandmother to James Schwank; Madison Petery; Courtney Melcher; Joseph Pietrowski. She is also survived by sisters Shirley Gillard of Harrisburg; Sandra E. Farrell of Edisto Island, SC; Linda L. Margerison of Muhlenberg Township and brothers Richard E. Ormsbee of Kenhorst and Robert A. Ormsbee of Harrisburg.
