Ruth Flohn

Ruth E. Flohn, aged 93, died on March 3, 2011, in the Highlands of Wyomissing, where she had resided since 1992. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was a graduate of Hunter College, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. In 1946 she married George S. Flohn who died in 1988.

Since 1934 she worked as an editor of mathematics and science textbooks. On January 1 of 2007, she ceased working, declaring that 89 was a good age to retire.

Surviving are two daughters, Alison of NY, and Ellen of PA. There are three granddaughters.

After cremation at the Bean Funeral Home, 3825 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring, burial will be at St. John's Cemetery in Cold Spring Harbor, Long Island, NY.
