Rose Schlappich

Rose M. Schlappich, 68, of Sinking Spring, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021 at 9:25 pm in Reading Hospital.  Born in Reading she was the daughter of the late Harry A.D. Mengel and Catherine F. Stuflet. Rose was a graduate of Hamburg Area High School. She was employed as a CNA at Berks Heim for 18 years until her retirement. Rose was known for her passion in cooking and baking. She is survived by her daughter Amy M. Brown, wife of David E. Brown of Newmanstown, her grandson Jeffrey P. Freeman, partner of Troy R. Herzer; siblings Milton Mengel, husband of Connie Mengel of Lyons Station; Edith Schaefer, wife of Carl Schaefer of Breiningsville; Richard Mengel, husband of Barbara Mengel of Breiningsville; Ruth Mengel, wife of Ismael Reyes of Reading and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.  She was preceded in death by brother Raymond Heiring and sisters Ardel Weindenhammer; Nancy M. Mengel and Kimberly K. Mengel.
