Rose David (Rozansky) of Topsfield, MA formerly of Reading, PA passed away on December 31, 2016 after a brief battle with cancer. She was beloved wife to the late Alex David and the loving mother of Alex A. David and Teresa and Robert Kalinowsky. Rose is survived by her devoted grandchildren Jodi and Mike Deldon, Joel and Christina Kalinowsky, Marc Kalinowsky; sister-in-law Helen David, numerous nieces and nephews, and friends in both Pennsylvania and Massachusetts.
Rose was born in Frackville, PA on October 8, 1931 and was the youngest of 13 siblings. Her proudest educational achievement was obtaining her Nursing degree at Women's Medical College of Philadelphia (now part of Thomas Jefferson University) in 1956. She served as Class President and, also played on the College basketball team.
A resident of the Reading, PA area for almost 40 years prior to moving to Topsfield, MA she was employed as a nurse at Reading Hospital before joining the staff at St. Joseph's Hospital, first as a nurse then as a hospital administrator. Rose loved being a nurse and enjoyed the companionship of her co-workers for many years after retirement.
Rose remained active during her retirement. Besides traveling she also volunteered at: the Lahey Medical Center; Topsfield Public Library; and the Topsfield Housing Authority.
Requiem of Divine Liturgy will celebrated at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, 501 Summit Ave., Reading, on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 10:00AM. A viewing will be held at Bean Funeral Home, 129 E. Lancaster Avenue, Shillington on Friday, January 6, 2017 from 4-7:00PM and Saturday, January 7, 2016 from 8:30-9:15AM. The burial will follow at the Church's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers we request donations be made in the name of Rose David to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital to assist those who are in need.
