Ronald Estock

Ronald A. Estock, 87, of Muhlenberg Township, passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2022, at Maidencreek Place. He was the beloved husband of the late Patricia A. Estock (Finerfrock), who passed away on November 24, 2021. Together they shared 65 years of marriage.

Born in Emmaus, he was the son of the late Andrew and Mildred (Heimbach) Estock. He was a graduate of Reading High School Class of 1953. He served proudly in the United States Air National Guard from 1953-1984 and retired as a Senior Master Sergeant. Proud member of the 148TH Fighter Squadron at the Reading PA Municipal Airport which was redesignated as the 193RD Special Operations Wing based at Olmsted State Airport. During his active-duty service, he flew supplies in and out of Vietnam in 1966 and 1967. In 1970 the 193rd was called to active duty to fly as part of Operation Commando BUZZ. For that exceptional mission performance they received the USAF Outstanding Unit Award with a V for Valor.

He was employed by J & J Heffleger Custom Kitchens in design and sales for over 30 years, retiring in the early 2000’s.

Ronald was an avid collector of many things in particular coins, bottles and post cards of Reading, baseball cards / sports memorabilia, and trains. He was a member of St. Thomas UCC, of Reading and the Berks History Center. Ronald was also a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Philadelphia Phillies.

He is survived by his children, Brent A. Estock, husband of Jody of Muhlenberg; Cynthia B. Estock, companion of Scott A. Kunkle, of West Lawn; Kelli L. Heck, wife of James Jr., of Mohrsville; grandchildren, Heather Thomas, wife of Christopher, of West Lawn; Wesley Estock, companion of Mia Brixter, of Fleetwood; great-grandchildren, Caira, Jeremiah, CJ, Tatiana, Kaidence and Kamrynn; and sisters, Shirley Hamsher, widow of Harold, of Whitfield; and Joyce Covely, widow of Thomas, of Whitfield.

Funeral Service will be held at Bean Funeral Homes 1605 Rockland Street Reading, PA 19604 on Friday, September 16, 2022, at 12:30pm. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park.
