Ronald Downey

Ronald T. Downey, 86, of Sinking Spring passed away Wednesday January 13, 2021 in his residence.

He was the husband of Sue F. Sterner.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Dewey G. Downey and Adell (Fogarty) Downey.

Mr. Downey was employed as an iron worker with Iron Worker’s Local 420 in Reading. A member of St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church; he was a U.S. Navy veteran and was a 1952 graduate of the former Reading Catholic High School.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his son, David Downey and grandson's Matthew and Andrew.  Mr. Downey was predeceased by his first wife, Jacqueline and brothers James and Joseph. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held Bean Funeral Home, 3825 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring, Monday January 18, 2021 at 1:00 pm. Reverend Thomas Bortz will officiate. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Sinking Spring Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends at Bean Funeral Home Monday January 18 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
