Roger L. Mauchline

Roger L. Mauchline, 93, of Sinking Spring, passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2025, in Reading Hospital. Born in Ambridge, he was the son of the late Mathilda (Vedel) and Robert Mauchline, Jr. He was the loving husband of Joyce E. (Nelsen) Mauchline and together they shared 64 years of marriage before her passing on April 9, 2019. He graduated from Penn State University with a bachelor’s in engineering. He worked as a Structural Engineer for the former Gilbert Commonwealth for many years before retiring. Roger was a dedicated member of Robeson Evangelical Lutheran Church. He tended to the garden, restarted the Senior Group after Covid, and at one time taught Sunday School and Confirmation classes. He was an avid gardener and reader, mostly political and religious texts. He was an all-around handy man and still did work around his house up until he went into the hospital.

Roger is survived by his children, Elaine L. Mauchline, wife of Edward F. Kroener of Morgantown, Joyce C. Mauchline, of Sinking Spring, and Christopher R. Mauchline, husband of Therese Mauchline of Honey Brook. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Brian Kroener, husband of Raquel Toledo, Kevin Kroener, partner of Karen Urosa, Nicole Kroener, partner of Seth Klein, James Mauchline, Joseph Mauchline, and Patrick Mauchline, and his great grandchildren, Felix Kroener-Toledo and Francis Klein. In addition to his wife, Joyce, Roger is predeceased by his sister, Joanne Rowley.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 11:00am in Robeson Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3520 Plow Road, Mohnton.  The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, May 24th from 10:00am to 11:00am in Robeson Evangelical Lutheran Church.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in honor of Mr. Roger L.
