Rocco Altavilla

Rocco M. Altavilla, 86, of, Shillington, passed away Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 8:00 a.m. at the Reading Hospital & Medical Center, where he had been a patient since Tuesday. Born in Hazelton, he was the son of the late James Altavilla and Florence (Scatton) Altavilla, and the widower of Agnes V. (Fusaro) Altavilla, who passed away in 1999.
He was a 1941 graduate of Hazelton High School, and worked as a laborer for Penn Optical for many years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of St. John Baptist De La Salle R.C.C., Shillington. He is survived by his son: James M. Altavilla, husband of Diana Altavilla of Exeter Twp., and a son in law: Mike Dietrich of Robesonia.
There are also three grandchildren: Danielle & Dante Altavilla, and Jason Dietrich; and two great grandchildren: Hayley and Madison. In addition to his parents and wife, he is pre deceased by a daughter: Elizabeth Dietrich, who passed away in 1999, and a grandson: Michael Dietrich, who passed away in 1989.
