Robert J. “Bob” Speece, Jr., 65, of Brecknock Township, passed away Wednesday October 6, 2021 at 3:30 pm in Reading Hospital. Born in West Reading, Bob was the son of Dorothy (Vilardo) Speece and the late Robert J. Speece, Sr. He was employed by Car Tech as a bar straightener until his retirement. He is survived by his children Robert J. Speece, III, husband of Melanie L. Speece of Mohnton and Tara L. Speece of Douglassville and proud PopPop of Gage T. Speece, Anthony R. Speece, McKenna M. Speece. He is also survived by his brother Dennis Speece, husband of Gerry Speece of Reading.
Bob lived his life to the fullest everyday. His grandchildren and family were his world. He was a true example of what a son, father, grandfather, friend, and man should be. Bob had the true gift of making everyone feel like family. Bob constantly made it a point to check in on people and was always a source of positivity and support bringing a smile to everyone's face when they saw him. He was nothing but happy, kind, loving, caring, warm, awesome and wonderful. He will be missed more than words can say.
Bob was a man of many talents. His love for art led him to building cars, motorcycles and anything he put his imagination to. He was known for his custom painting and flames, not only on cars and motorcycles, but on anything you wanted painted. His passion also included going to car shows and the races with his friends and family.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, October 15, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Bean Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 129 East Lancaster Ave. Shillington. We would like to honor Bob with a classic car show. Any friends and family that would like to bring a hot rod please arrive between 3:00-3:45 pm.
