Robert Roche

Robert Richard Roche, 87, formerly of Keystone Villa of Ephrata, via way of Brecknock Township passed away due to complications of Covid-19 on Friday, September 3, 2021 at Hickory House Nursing Home.  Born in Reading, he was the son of the late John A. Roche and Irene Bachschmidt Roche.  Robert was the loving husband to Barbara Ann Brubaker Roche and together they shared 59 years of marriage until her passing on July 18, 2013.  Robert graduated from Reading High School class of 1952.  He proudly served his country in the United States Navy.  During his time in the Navy, he served on the Battleship U.S.S. Iowa BB61 as an electricians mate.  After leaving the Navy, he worked in the Elevator business, local 84 for multiple companies and retired from OTIS in the early 2000s.  Bob enjoyed watching the Philadelphia Eagles, Flyers & Phillies, talking anything Navy or elevator related, and spending time with his family. Bob enjoyed traveling/cruising with his wife up to her passing

Robert is survived by his children, Heather M. Roche, wife of Denise of Hamburg and Stephen E. Roche, husband of Elizabeth of Parkesburg. Also surviving are his two granddaughters, Victoria and Madison, and his beloved cat Ebony.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 13, 2021 at 10:00 am in Bean Funeral Homes, 6 Fairlane Road, Exeter Township.  Reverend William B. Fryer to celebrate.  Interment will follow with Military Honors rendered by the United States Navy at Forest Hills Memorial Park.
