Robert Riedel

Robert V. Riedel, 82, of Shillington, passed away July 4, 2016 in The Reading Hospital.
He was the husband of Carol G. (Fracalossi) Riedel; together they celebrated 53 years of marriage.
Born in Spring Township, he was the son of the late Ralph and Mary (Boltz) Riedel.
Mr. Riedel was a 1953 graduate of Shillington High School and was employed at Reading Electric as an inside salesman.
Surviving in addition to his wife Carol, is a daughter Susan C. diBattista of Providence, RI; granddaughter Gabriella S. diBattista and his loyal dog Lily; sisters Patricia Riedel of Reading; Sandra Reed, Reading; Carol Renninger, Leesport; Betty Guldin, Topton; brother Edward Riedel, Reading. He was preceded in death by siblings Barbara Riedel, Ralph Riedel, Lester Riedel, Richard Riedel, Jacqueline Hafer, Walter "Butch" Riedel and Charlie Riedel.
As much as Bobby loved playing and watching sports he loved his granddaughter Gabba and dog Lily more.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Robert's memory to American Cancer Society: 498 Bellevue Avenue, Reading, PA 19605.
Services will be held in Bean Funeral Homes, 129 East Lancaster Avenue, Shillington, Friday, July 8, 2016 at 1:30pm. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends 12:30-1:30pm.
