Robert Pearson

Robert B. Pearson, 72, of Cumru Township, formerly of Leesport, passed away October 20, 2010 at 8:31 am in ManorCare Health Services, Spring Township, a resident since February 2008. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Nancy A.(Zettlemoyer)Pearson. Born in Williamsport, he was the son of the late Ralph B. and Grace F.(Siglin)Pearson. Mr. Pearson was a graduate of Mt. Penn High School, graduate of Kutztown University with a BA in Education and received his masters in educaiton from Temple University. He was an assistant superintendent and business director for Schuylkill Valley School District for 27 years, retiring in 1994. He was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Shillington where he taught Sunday School and served as secretary of church council and was a member of the choir. He was president of Shoemakersville/Leesport Rotary Club, president of Dark Hollow Hunting Club and played saxophone with the Centerport Band. Mr. Pearson was an avid golfer and musician, enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting and loved Philadelphia sports teams. He was a loving father to Eric B. husband of Tammy L. Pearson of Birdsboro, Douglas R. husband of Michele M. Pearson of Mohnton and Marsha K.(Pearson)wife of Erin C. Pingitore of Douglassville. He was a loving great grandfather to Kristin M., Caitlin M., Blaine T., R. Collier, MacLean R., Riley B., Dane R. and Grant C.
