Robert M. Lash, 84, of Wernersville, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at 9:30 p.m. at home.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Lloyd Lash and Minnie (Hottenstein) Lash.
He was the husband of Theresa C. (Moyer) Lash. The couple shared 59 wonderful years of marriage.
He was a 1942 graduate of Reading High School. He served in the 102nd Infantry in the United States Army during World War II., and was a recipient of the Bronze Star. He was involved in the second wave at Normandy, and fought in the Battle of the Bulge.
He worked in the paint shop department at Dana Corporation for more than 40 years. He enjoyed bowling, loved the Phillies, and was an avid fisherman, making numerous trips to Canada with his family. With his son Robert L., he built and raced cars as part of the Reading Jr. Stock Car Assoc. They also worked on several home improvement projects together through the years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son: Robert L. Lash, husband of Helen J., of Leesport; and a daughter: Donna M. Lash of Wernersville; and his granddog: Emma, a yellow lab.
He is also survived by a brother: Kenneth Lash of Wernersville; brother in laws, sister and laws, and nieces and nephews.
