Robert B. Jensen, 89, of Bern Twp., passed away January 8, 2010 at 10:50 AM in Reading Hospital & Medical Center where he was a patient since January 3rd. He was the husband of Margaret J. (Bardes) Jensen. Born in Chicago on June 26, 1920, he was the son of the late Sigurd R. Jensen and the late Alice Ruth (Beattie) Jensen.
Mr. Jensen was a 1947 graduate of Perdue University in Indiana and a member of Holy Cross United Methodist Church in Reading. Robert was an Army veteran of World War 2. He served as the radio man on a B-17 that held a high altitude record while at the Aberdeen Proving Ground. He was a Past President of Reading Radio Club, a member of Reading Lodge # 549 F & AM, the Reading Stamp Club and Fleetwood American Legion Post # 625.
Mr. Jensen was employed as an engineer at Gilbert Associates in Reading for 22 years retiring in 1981. He served as a Constable for Bern Twp. from 1985 until 1991.
Surviving in addition to his wife are 2 sons Wayne S. Jensen of Reading and David B. Jensen husband of Romain M. Jensen of Blandon, 2 grandchildren Emily Rachel Jensen and Jordan David Jensen. He was predeceased by a brother Allen H. Jensen.
