Robert Hare

Robert L. Hare, 95, of Lower Alsace Township, passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2018 at the Reading Hospital. Born in Reading he was the beloved son of Edward and Anna (Schwambach) Hare. Robert was a graduate of Mount Penn High School. He was a union sheet metal worker for 20 plus years, then in 1973 he started a roofing business with his nephew Dennis called Antietam Roofing. Robert also served proudly in the United States Army, during World War II. He had a great love for gardening and baseball. He was a big Yankees fan. Robert is survived by his daughter, Marcia Hare of Pine Grove, PA; sisters, June Rothenberger, of Exeter Township; Miriam Noll, of Muhlenberg Township; nephew, Dennis and nieces, Linda and Rhonda .
Celebration of life service will be held at Bean Funeral Home, North 16th & Rockland Streets, Hampden Heights, 19604, on Monday, September 24, 2018 at 11:00am. Amy S. Landis, certified celebrant will officiate. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive family and friends from 10:00am-11:00am at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Animal Rescue League of Berks County, 58 Kennel Road Birdsboro or The Pennsylvania SPCA, in memory of Robert L. Hare.
